The Friday afternoon saw a hugely successful Pizza, Bugs and Fun session where the community comes together to fix and text issues that have been found with Joomla or new features that have been requested. Documentation was also a big task which saw many contributors getting involved during the evening. After the Pizza, Bugs and Fun session we all settled down to a pizza in the hotel restaurant followed by a great social in the bar.
We attended a range of sessions over the weekend, including learning about the Joomla API, discovering the power of pattern libraries with front-end design, and a session on the IDE that we use - PHPStorm. PHP7 support is a big thing in the Joomla community, as it allows significant performance increases however also needs extensions to be updated to support it - so this was a session of interest to Marco.
Ruth attended an interesting session by Soren Beck-Jensen about Neno Translate, the system we use for multilingual website translation where we discussed how the system allows both machine-translated and professional translation services.
On Sunday morning, Ruth spoke about how Joomla sites can integrate with Mautic to streamline their marketing workflows which was well received - the slides are provided below.
Marco ran two sessions on the future of Joomla 4 and how custom fields can be used to extend Joomla - a feature that will be coming to Joomla's core provision in the coming months.
