Mautic is available in both hosted and self-hosted versions.
The benefit of the hosted version is that you don't need to worry about having your hosting environment set up and configured to run Mautic. When you sign up for an account, Mautic is installed on the Allyde Cloud, allowing you to get up and running quickly with minimal fuss.
There is a limit on the number of leads that you can have on the hosted version before you start to pay for the service - 2000 leads. The www.mautic.org offers unlimited leads, custom domains, a wider range of plugins and more users ($12 per user).
The hosted account is a great way to get up and running with Mautic quickly, especially if you don't have much technical experience.
Mautic has a self-hosted version, which means that you can install it on your own website hosting and have full access to the source code. There are several ways to download Mautic:
- Via www.mautic.org
- Via Github
- Using Softaculous (many hosting providers will have Softaculous available in CPanel, just search for Mautic).
This documentation will focus on the self-hosted version unless otherwise specified, however the layout and options are mostly identical across versions.
